Wingen-sur-Moder - Alsace

Villa René Lalique

5 ★ Hotel - ** Michelin restaurant

Who’s it for ?

Lovers of luxury hotels, gastronomy and decorative crystal objects, who wish to take a break in the heart of the Vosges du Nord Natural Park, in the footsteps of one of the greatest master glassmakers of the 19th and 20th centuries.

The pitch

Located in the heart of the small Alsatian village of Wingen-sur-Moder, the former family home of avant-garde artist René Lalique, master jeweler of Art Nouveau and master glassmaker of Art Deco, celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2020. Transformed into a sumptuous 5-star hotel in 2015, the Villa René Lalique retains the authenticity of a family home enhanced by the splendor of a luxury boutique hotel, whose decoration was entrusted to two interior designers, Lady Tina Green and Pietro Mingarelli, creators of the Lalique Maison collection of furniture, decorative accessories and linens
While each of the 6 suites is unique, they all feature Lalique crystal decorative objects, as well as nods to René Lalique. As for gastronomy, the double-starred restaurant, one of the best in France, is the work of Austrian Chef Paul Stradner, who proudly succeeds his mentor, Chef Jean-Georges Klein.

We like

  • The superb Musée Lalique, located near the Villa René Lalique, dedicated to the artist
  • The cellar, one of the finest in Europe, with an exceptional collection of over 60,000 bottles
  • The contemporary restaurant, a veritable glass vessel with a green roof overlooking 6 hectares of forest
  • Proximity to 3 exceptional golf courses, including one ranked 9th in Europe's Top Ten
  • The comfort, intimacy and luxury of this pocket hotel, a romantic and natural refuge par excellence.
