Just outside Montpellier, the Domaine de Biar has the feel of a hidden country estate. This historic residence is nestled amid several hectares of unspoiled nature, surrounded by tall trees, farmland, and horses roaming in semi-freedom.
The hotel has only 13 rooms and suites, each one unique. Old stone, exposed beams, spacious rooms, and more contemporary details come together to create warm interiors that feel more like a lived-in home than a traditional hotel. Outside, the pace naturally slows down: a pool under the trees, lounge chairs in the shade of reed screens, massages, a eucalyptus-scented hammam, yoga, or simply strolling through the grounds.
Awarded the Clef Verte certification and honored with two Michelin Keys, the estate embodies a discreet and responsible approach to luxury—from its pesticide-free farmland to its gourmet restaurant. Chef Mathieu Garcin creates Mediterranean cuisine rooted in the Hérault region, emphasizing local, organic, and seasonal ingredients.
