In Verneuil-sur-Avre, in the heart of Normandy, Verneuil la Douce reimagines the spirit of the country house through the lens of contemporary art. Within the walls of this charming estate, seven artists were invited to make the space their own, transforming the hotel into a living gallery where every room tells a story.
Poetic murals adorn the guest rooms, while a spectacular Eiffel-inspired glass roof creates a light-filled lounge beneath a painted sky featuring Greek deities. The Orangerie, with its nine brick arches and décor designed by Kimmy Quillin, continues this fusion of heritage and contemporary design.
The experience continues at the Patiné restaurant, where Chef Cyril Coutin serves gourmet cuisine, or on Sundays with a brunch accompanied by live piano music. For relaxation, two swimming pools, a holistic treatment room, and a park filled with 200-year-old trees invite you to slow down. A unique destination, halfway between a country retreat, an artist’s home, and a charming hotel.
